Three Named to AMCC Spring Sportsmanship Team
Three Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named to the 2010-11 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference Sportsmanship Team.
ERIE, Pa. – Three Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named to the 2010-11 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference Spring Sportsmanship Team.
One student-athlete from each AMCC school for every spring sport is chosen to the team. The honorees are voted on by their teammates. Senior John Michalko represents men’s tennis, junior Ashley Gruber was selected for softball and senior Ed Kessler was chosen baseball.
The AMCC selection criteria states that these student-athletes "must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor. Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and fans. He/She must also serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams’ sporting events."
