Sada Named All-Region

ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) has been named to the 2017 All-Mideast Region team, announced on Monday.

Sada is earning his second straight All-Region honor. The second baseman earned a spot on the second team after being selected to the third team his freshman season. He recently was selected to the CoSIDA All-District team and was an All-AMCC first-team selection for the Lions.

Sada hit at a .390 mark and led the team in slugging percentage (.686), hits (62), RBIs (48), runs (46), doubles (20), home runs (7), and triples (3). His 20 doubles this season puts him tied for sixth in NCAA Division III statistics. He also stole 19 bases and 18 multiple-hit games. Sada went a perfect 3-for-3 and drove in five runs in a 16-4 win over D'Youville.

Sada also made five appearances on the mound, picking up one win and giving up just four hits and striking out three.

The 2017 season marks the sixth year that has named All-Region teams, with 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as staff and contributors.
