Altemose, Simon Honored by CSCAA
Penn State Behrend swimmers Clay Altemose and Dan Simon have been named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America 2012 Scholar All-America Honorable Mention team.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend swimmers Clay Altemose (Apollo, PA / Apollo-Ridge) and Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA / Penn Trafford) have been named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) 2012 Scholar All-America Honorable Mention team.
Altemose, a two-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Swimmer of the Week, had an outstanding junior season. He earned First-Team All-AMCC accolades in four relay events and the 100 fly. Altemose was tabbed as the program’s Most Valuable Player and was named AMCC All-Academic.
Simon made an immediate impact in his first year with the Lions. He was honored with the team’s Rookie of the Year award and was named AMCC All-Academic. Simon was a part of four First-Team All-AMCC relay teams. He also earned first-team honors in the 100 and 200 back events.
The Behrend men’s swimming and diving team won their sixth consecutive AMCC title.
