Bernstein Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car Athlete of the Week
Jacob Bernstein (Sierra Madre/Pasadena) has been named the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week for the week of October 5, 2009. Bernstein made 35 saves over the weekend at the Claremont Invitational, including a game saving five meter penalty save during the Cal Tech game. The win against Cal Tech put the Behrend Lions into the win column for the first time this season.

The Behrend Lions men’s water polo program is geared up for the start of the season. “I look forward to a strong showing this year,” said Head Coach Joe Tristan. “We return three starters and have a dynamic freshman class joining our team.” The program appears to be ready to make a run in 2009 and improve on its 5-14 mark from last season.

For the fourth time in Behrend school history a member of Coach Joe Tristan men's water polo team was named as an All-American. Sophomore Jon Bacon (Glendale, CA/Crespi Carmelite) was named to the Division III All-American team at the two meter position.

The blue and white started out by smacking Connecticut College 21-12 in the first match of the championships.

I haven't seen this type of team unity and team work in a couple years and it is a great feeling to see the team utilize all of its assetts to try and get the goal.
