ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball won their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match, defeating Hilbert 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Lions (7-10, 1-2 AMCC) improve to 14-0 all-time against the Hawks (1-16, 0-5 AMCC). Freshman Madison Clapper (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) set a season high with 10 aces. Kylie McSwaney (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem) took over and recorded four aces to help the Lions jump ahead 20-4. The final three points were won on Hilbert errors for a 1-0 lead in the match.
Clapper tallied six of her 10 aces in the second set to start and build an 11-0 lead. The Lions were able to get 18 points with only giving up one and eventually win 25-8.
