ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend senior baseball shortstop Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) and senior softball pitcher AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Sada became the NCAA Division III leader in career doubles on Wednesday in game two against Medaille with a pair of doubles. He hit .333 with six RBIs, six runs, four doubles and one home run. Sada had five extra-base hits in his seven and stole two bases. He had multiple-hit games in the wins over Medaille and Alfred State.
Nichols was selected Pitcher of the Week, appearing in three game last week and starting in game one against D'Youville and Mt. Aloysius. In both starts, Nichols registered a win while pitching complete games. Nichols registered 21 strikeouts on the week, including a season-high 12 against Mt. Aloysius. She pitched 14.2 innings, giving up just 10 hits and three runs while finishing the week with an ERA of 0.95.
