Barnes, Tingley Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball outfielder Dylan Barnes and softball pitcher Abby Tingley were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

Barnes hit .611 for the week, going 11-for-16 with 13 RBIs, four home runs and a double for the Lions, leading his team to a 3-1 record on the week. He registered multiple hits in all four games. On Saturday at Hilbert, Barnes went 5-for-5 with three home runs, including a grand slam, for 10 RBI and three runs scored. He posted a 1.333 slugging percentage and .650 on-base percentage across four games.

Tingley registered a win and a save in a pair of wins over Mt. Aloysius on Friday. She recorded her 250th career strikeout in game one, fanning a total of nine batters and allowing two hits for the shut-out win. Tingley came in relief in game two, striking out all three batters she faced in the seventh inning to preserve the 6-4 win. Tingley recorded 12 strikeouts on the week (10.50 k/7 average) while registering a 0.00 ERA.
