ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team came up short in a back-and-forth battle with Allegheny, falling 10-9 in non-conference action on Monday.

* The Gators avenged a one-run loss to the Lions back on March 25 at home
* The Lions jumped ahead early, scoring twice in the first on Dylan Barnes' two-run double and adding two more in the second to build a 4-1 lead
* Allegheny answered with three runs in the third to tie the game
* Both teams continued to trade runs throughout the middle innings in a contest that featured six lead changes or ties
* Behrend regained the lead in the fifth with a three-run inning, highlighted by Jake Federouch's two-run single and Paul Connolly's RBI knock
* After Allegheny surged ahead 9-7 in the seventh, Tyler Burick responded with a solo home run to cut the deficit to one
* The Lions tied the game in the eighth when Federouch delivered a sacrifice fly that brought home Danny Pedersen, knotting the score at 9-all
