PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team held off La Roche 75-71 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener on Wednesday night.

Records: Penn State Behrend (4-3, 1-0 AMCC), La Roche (1-6, 0-1 AMCC)
Noteworthy:
* Behrend turned a five-point halftime lead into a 19-point advantage in the second half
* Shawn Mason's three-pointer with 10:37 left to play put the Lions up 57-38
* La Roche held Behrend to one point over the next five minutes to close the gap to five points
* Back-to-back layups by Dolan Waldo and Jacob Dunkle pushed the lead to 62-55
* The Redhawks got within one point on three occasions with the last coming with 1:44 remaining
* Mason Blankenberg scored the final four points, layup and a pair of free throws, in the final 48 seconds to get the conference win
* Dunkle led all scorers with a season-high 23 points to go with nine rebounds and two blocks
* Waldo posted the double-double with a career-high 19 points and 11 rebounds
* Blankenberg ended with 13 points and five assists
* Major Rainey had 17 points for La Roche
