Six Behrend Players Named to All-AMCC Women's Tennis Team
The Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team had six players named to the 2024 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Tuesday.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team had six players named to the 2024 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Tuesday.
All six played were named to the All-AMCC Team for both doubles and singles play.
Tamanna Sharma (Brampton, Canada/Fletcher's Meadow Secondary School) was the No. 1 player for Behrend in singles and doubles competition. In singles, she tallied a 2-1 conference mark and a 4-5 overall record to be named to the second team. Sharma joined Enisa Siljkovic (Erie, PA/ Collegiate Academy) at No. 1 doubles for a 6-4 overall mark. The duo fell once in conference play for a 2-1 mark and were selected Second Team All-Conference.
Siljkovic landed on the second team at No. 2 singles for leading Behrend in that spot with a 7-2 record. She also picked up a pair of wins at No. 1 singles. Lauren Burkley (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford) was named to the second team at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. Burkley posted a 7-3 overall singles record, including 5-3 in the third spot with a 4-1 conference mark. Burkley and Lindsey Kerlin (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) were the twosome that registered a 6-3 doubles record at No. 2.
Kerlin was also selected to the All-AMCC First Team at No. 4 singles. She led the team with 11 singles wins, going 9-1 at No. 4. She also went undefeated in conference play (5-0).
Keri Saulino (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and Triss Righi (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) rounded out the All-Conference honors. Saulino and Righi teamed up at No. 3 doubles to earn First-Team accolades. Overall, they posted a 2-4 doubles record and tallied one conference win against Penn State Altoona.
Saulino and Righi landed on the second team for singles action. Saulino went 3-1 in conference play at No. 5 singles to earn her third All-AMCC honors, while Righi went 2-2 at No. 6 singles.
