Men's Track & Field Record Highest Finish at AARTFC Championships; Lions Place Fifth
The Penn State Behrend men’s track & field team recorded their highest finish at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Thursday. The Lions took fifth out of 39 teams with a score of 41 points.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field team recorded their highest finish at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Thursday. The Lions took fifth out of 39 teams with a score of 41 points.
Key Moments:
* Marshall Nock (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin), Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) placed third overall with a new school record of 41.20
* The foursome broke the record they set from yesterday's prelims after running 41.36
* Tobin, coming off the 4x100 record, finished sixth in the 100m with a time of 10.71
* In the prelims, Tobin broke an 11-year-old program record with a personal best time of 10.52
* Tobin also ran the 200m along with Egizio
* Egizio ran a season-best time of 21.81 for seventh place and Tobin was a close ninth place with a time of 21.84
* Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) ran the 800m, clocking in with a time of 1:55.46 for 19th place
* Pierce also competed in the 4x800m with Aiden Seeman (Edinboro, PA/General McLane), Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) and Drew Knight (Butler, PA/Butler)
* The foursome ran 7:57.51 to come in seventh overall
* In the shot put, Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) and Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) placed side-by-side
* Cotton threw 51-6 ¼ for fifth place overall and Faraone registered a toss of 51-5 ¾ to take sixth
