Tobin Breaks 60m Record; Behrend Track & Field Opens Season at Houghton
The Penn State Behrend men’s indoor track & field team competed at the Houghton December Classic to open the 2025-26 season on Friday night.
HOUGHTON, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team competed at the Houghton December Classic to open the 2025-26 season on Friday night.
Key Moments:
* Carter Tobin won the 60m dash, breaking the school record and the Kerr-Pegula Field House record with a time of 6.85
* Tobin's time was also an AARTFC qualifying mark
* Brandon Konieczki finished eighth in the 60m, coming in at 7.19
* Tobin also entered the invitational ranked first in the 200m dash and he finished third overall with an AARTFC qualifying time of 22.22
* Derek Hillhouse was the top competitor in the high jump, tying for third with a height of 6-2
* In the triple jump, Lee Qualk registered his longest jump on his second try with a distance of 23-4 ¾ (7.13) for third overall
* Alex Cotton had an AARTFC qualifying throw in the shot put for fourth place thanks to a distance of 47-11 ¾ (14.62), while Antonio Faraone came in fifth (46-2 ½) and Ryan Visosky in sixth (46-2)
* Cotton also took seventh in the weight throw, getting a distance of 44-6 ¼ (13.57)
* Behrend had two relay teams place in the Top 10 for the 4x400
* Teddy Ola, Logan Brewer, Ethan Hunt and Jake Walden placed second with a time of 3:34.78
* The second relay team consisting of Shlok Chavda, Jack Betler, Ethan Rutherford and Anderson Blakley came in fifth (3:42.40)
* Aiden Reinsel had the best time for Behrend in the 3000m event, taking fifth in 9:23.94
* Dominic Marino had the fifth-fastest time in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.79
* In the 400m, Walden posted a time of 52.88 for eighth place
* In the 800m, Drew Knight led the Lions with an eighth-place finish with a time of 2:03.28 followed by Betler in 10th overall (2:07.37)
