Cotton Wins Shot Put; Men's Outdoor Track & Field Competes at Mt. Union
Alex Cotton won the shot put to lead the Penn State Behrend men’s outdoor track & field team at the John Homon Invitational at Mount Union on Saturday.
ALLIANCE, Ohio – Alex Cotton won the shot put to lead the Penn State Behrend men's outdoor track & field team at the John Homon Invitational at Mount Union on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* Cotton was first in the shot put with a throw of 15.44m (50'8") and he also was fifth in the discus (44.44m)
* Tobin ran the 100m in 10.72 for second place
* Peyton Brewer was also runner up in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:42.74
* Derek Hillhouse, Alex Haskins and Dominic Marino all took third place on the day
* In the high jump, Hillhouse tied for third (1.95m)
* Alex Haskins was third in the 5000m event (15:36.41), while Marino was third in the 110m hurdles (15.26)
* Antonio Faraone was fifth in the shot put (14.75m), behind Cotton, and Aidan Riensel took sixth in the 5000m (15:58.50) behind Haskins
* Charlie Motter and Braden Balaski led Behrend in the javelin
* Motter threw 153'6" (46.79m) for sixth and Balaski was seventh, getting a distance of 150'4" (45.84m)
* Shlok Chavda competed in the 400m hurdles, taking eighth in 57.95 and Cole Cunningham was eighth in the long jump (6.80m)
* Jake Egizio had a pair of ninth-place finishes in the 400m (49.79) and in the 200m (22.38)
