Motter Wins Javelin; Men's Track & Field Sits in Fourth Place at AARTFC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's track & field sophomore Charlie Motter was named the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Champion in the javelin, highlighting day one of the championships hosted by Ursinus College.
Key Moments:
* Motter threw 61.26m, a personal-best distance, to win gold
* Motter moved into first place on his final throw to secure the win and also ranking him into 21st in NCAA Division III
* Brandon Konieczki placed third in the long jump to bring home the bronze medal
* Konieczki registered a distance of 7.16m on his final attempt
* Peyton Brewer broke his own school record in the 3000m steeplechase, running 9:26.97 for sixth place
* In the 100m prelims, Carter Tobin registered a time of 10.50 for second place and a spot in the finals tomorrow
* Tobin, Konieczki, Dominic Marino and Jake Egizio were the foursome that ran the 4x100m relay in the prelims, taking fourth and advancing to the finals tomorrow with a time of 41.53
* Marino also competed in the 110m hurdles and finished 30th with a time of 15.67
* In the 10,000m, Alex Haskins ran 33:26.49 to come in 17th place overall
* The Lions scored 16 points and are in fourth place after eight of the 22 events were scored
