Jackson Selected 2024 AMCC Faculty Athletic Representatives Honoree
Penn State Behrend senior men’s volleyball player Alex Jackson has been named the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Male Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) Award Winner.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend senior men's volleyball player Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) has been named the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Male Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) Award Winner.
Jackson was voted on by the FAR's in the conference and chosen among 18 student-athletes named to the AMCC All-Academic Team. He was a four-year member of the men's volleyball team and a captain his senior year. Jackson was a two-time All-AMCC selection and was named the All-Academic Team all four years. He led the Lions to the AMCC Championship in 2022 and an ECAC Tournament appearance in 2023. Jackson finished the season earning the Team's Most Valuable Player and Behrend's Academic Athlete of the Year Award.
Jackson graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering, boasting a 4.0 grade-point average (GPA). He was a four-year member of the Behrend Engineering Ambassadors. Jackson was involved on campus with the First Lego League, STEAM Fair, Women in Engineering Program, Girl Scouts STEM Program, Super Sonic Saturday and the Science Olympiad. He also helped with Presque Isle Beach Cleanup with the members of the volleyball team and the Shining Star Program through the Behrend Chapel.
