Men's Water Polo Competes at Gary Troyer Tournament in California

ORANGE, Calif. – The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team competed in day one of the Gary Troyer Tournament, falling to Chapman and Biola on Friday night.
Match One
Score: Chapman 22, Penn State Behrend 8
Key Moments:
* Chapman jumped out to a 10-5 lead at halftime and added 12 more goals for the final score
* Eugene Kruger and Caden Currykosky each tallied two goals for the Lions
* Nick Thompson also scored and handed out two assists
* Dylan Hayslip and Freddy Browarski each scored and tallied an assist
* Andy Zhuri started in goal and made nine saves and had one steal
* Michael Kali came in for Zhuri and tallied four saves
* As a team, Behrend registered 24 shots and six steals

Score: Biola 18, Penn State Behrend 6
Key Moments:
* Biola took a 3-0 lead in the first period, but the Lions tallied two unanswered goals to make it 3-2
* Currykosky tallied a goal off an assist from Owen Kroh to make it 3-1
* Nick Thompson made it 3-2 with a goal thanks to an assist from Atticus Bowman
* The Eagles started the second similar to the first, scoring three straight goals to extend the lead to 6-3
* Biola converted three penalty shots and added 12 more goals
* The Eagles held a small advantage in shots (35-27)
* For the Lions, Thompson scored again while Kroh and Ryan Carpico added goals in the second period
* Thompson added a penalty shot goal for his third of the game on a penalty shot
