Thompson, Carpico Lead Men's Water Polo Past Connecticut; Thompson Sets Goals Record

WHEATON, Mass. – The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team registered its second straight win, defeating Connecticut College 13-8 on day two of the MPSF Regional held at Wheaton College. Nick Thompson set the single-season record for most goals for the Lions.

* The win is the second over Connecticut and the first win streak of the season
* Behrend defeated Wheaton 17-7 on Saturday
* The Lions finished the weekend 2-1
* Thompson led Behrend with five goals and Ryan Carpico added four goals
* Behrend tallied three unanswered goals to post a one-goal lead at halftime
* Rylan McDowell and Thompson were pivotal in getting the Lions a 4-3 edge at the break
* Behrend exploded for five goals in the third and four in the fourth hold off Connecticut
*  In the final quarter, both teams traded goals, but the Lions maintained their lead, ultimately sealing the victory
* Ethan Friedman kept the Camels at bay with 19 saves, while Sebastian Parilov made 13 saves for Connecticut
