WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Penn State Behrend softball team fell to Carrol 1-0 in game one and then dropped a 9-0 decision to Kean on Sunday afternoon in Winter Haven, Florida.
Game One: Carroll 1, Penn State Behrend 0
Records: Penn State Behrend (0-1), Carroll (6-3)
Key Moments:
* After six scoreless frames, the Pioneers pushed across the game's lone run in the top of the seventh
* Madison Hoagland reached base and later scored on a single by Gianna Buske, giving Carroll the 1–0 lead
* The run proved to be enough as the Pioneer pitching staff closed out the shutout in the bottom half of the inning
* Mya Schneider started in the circle and allowed four hits over four scoreless innings. Makayla Wall earned the win in relief, tossing three shutout innings while striking out four and allowing just one hit to improve to 3–0 on the season
* Abby Tingley threw all seven innings and gave up one run on three hits for the loss
