ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union softball team took two from Penn State Behrend, winning 4-2 and 9-6 in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
Game One: Mount Union 4, Penn State Behrend 2
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-6), Mount Union (11-4)
Key Moments:
* Mt. Union's Lydia Brunner smacked a three-run homer in the bottom of the second for a quick 3-0 lead
* Hannah Smith answered with first dinger of the season in the top of the frame to make it 3-1
* The Purple Raiders added a run in the bottom of the fourth for a 4-1 lead
* Behrend could only get one more run in the top of the sixth for the final margin
* Izabel Pozar doubled down left-field line and advanced to third on a throwing error
* Pozar scored on a sacrifice bunt by Lexi Edgett
* Abby Tingley falls to 2-3, pitching six innings and allowing four runs on nine hits
