Behrend Softball Takes Two From Carlow; Lions Remain Undefeated in AMCC Action
The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Carlow in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday. The Lions posted a 10-0 game-one shutout and a 15-9 decision in game two.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Carlow in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday. The Lions posted a 10-0 game-one shutout and a 15-9 decision in game two.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 10, Carlow 0 (5)
Records: Penn State Behrend (14-7, 7-0 AMCC), Carlow (4-19, 1-4 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* Abby Tingley threw a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts over five innings
* The Lions scored 10 runs on 14 hits with eight different players recording a hit
* Julie Jones led with three RBIs, including a two-run single and a sacrifice fly
* Karma Malcolm was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and a triple
* Behrend totaled six extra-base hits, three triples, two doubles and a solo home run from Meghan Swain in the opening frame
* Behrend broke open the game with four runs in the third to make it 5-0
* The run-rule went into effect after back-to-back triples from Malcom and Izabel Pozar in the fifth
* In addition to Tingley's pitching, the defense stranded only three Carlow baserunners

* Behrend took the early lead and never trailed to remain undefeated in AMCC action
* The Lions scored six runs in the first and tacked on another in the second, before Carlow cut the lead to one with six runs in the second
* Eight players recorded multiple hits in the team's 21 total hits
* Hannah Smith went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBIs, including a double
* Malcolm delivered three hits, three runs, and two RBIs, continuing a big day at the plate
* Alexia Brown drove in a team-high three RBIs on three hits and added a stolen base
* Lexi Edgett chipped in two hits and two RBIs
