Softball Stays Perfect in AMCC Action; Behrend Sweeps La Roche
The Penn State Behrend softball team remains undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action, sweeping La Roche on Saturday afternoon. The Lions earned a 9-1 six-inning victory in game one and posted a 6-5 (eight innings) in game two.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team remains undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action, sweeping La Roche on Saturday afternoon. The Lions earned a 9-1 six-inning victory in game one and posted a 6-5 (eight innings) in game two.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 9, La Roche 1 (6)
Records: Penn State Behrend (19-8, 11-0 AMCC), La Roche (9-22, 5-6 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* Behrend scored in five of the six innings, totaling nine runs on 10 hits
* The Lions capitalized on six La Roche errors to take lead and stay ahead
* Chloe Nale tallied her fourth double of the season and then scored on a Hannah Smith ground out for a 1-0 lead after the first
* Karma Malcolm, who tallied two hits and two runs, made it 2-0 on a rundown to catch Izabel Pozar stealing second
* Behrend registered three runs in the top of the third on three hits and two errors
* The lone run in the fifth was Meghan Swains bomber over the fence, giving her a pair of hits on the day
* The Lions put the game away with a three-run sixth inning

Key Moments:
* Athena Iverson scored the game-winning run in the eighth off a ground out by Malcolm for the win
* The international tiebreaker rule was in effect and Athena Iverson was placed on second in the top of the eighth
* Lexi Edgett moved Iverson to third and Malcom grounded out to knock in Iverson to make it 6-5
* Abby Tingley, who came in relief in the sixth, went three and out to halt the Redhawks in the bottom of the frame
* La Roche grabbed the early 2-0 lead after the first inning
* Behrend got within one in the second, thanks to Athena Iverson
* Iverson walked, advance to second on a wild pitch and scored on an error to make it 2-1
* The Redhawks pushed the advantage back to two in the third, but Behrend scored four runs over two innings for a 5-3 lead
* The Lions scored four runs over two innings for a 5-3 lead, but La Roche tied the game at 5-all in the bottom of the seventh
