Behrend Softball Poised to Compete for AMCC Title
The Penn State Behrend softball team earned the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships May 6-9 held at the Rose and Dennis Heindl Memorial Field in DuBois, Pa.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team earned the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships May 6-9 held at the Rose and Dennis Heindl Memorial Field in DuBois, Pa.
The Lions (25-11) will be making their 25th appearance in the tournament. Behrend was named the Regular-Season Champions with a conference mark at 15-1 to secure the top-seed for the championships.
Behrend received a first-round bye and will face the winner of No. 4 Pitt-Bradford vs. No. 5 Pitt-Greensburg at approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
The double-elimination tournament continues through Friday and a possible two games on Saturday if necessary. The champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The Lions are going for their 12th overall conference championship. Behrend last won the championship in 2024.
