Altavilla Named Preseason Player of the Year; Women's Basketball Picked First in Coaches Poll
Penn State Behrend women's basketball senior guard Morgan Altavilla was named the 2025-26 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Player of the Year.
ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend women's basketball senior guard Morgan Altavilla was named the 2025-26 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Player of the Year.
Altavilla is earning the honor for the second straight season. She was an AMCC First Team All-Conference selection a year ago. She ranked second on the team and fourth in the conference in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Altavilla was first in free-throw percentage at 81.8 percent and second in total points scored (443). She led the team in scoring seven times and reached double-digit points in a team-best 25 games out of 25. Altavilla also reached the 1,000-career point milestone as a junior.
The Lions were selected to finish first in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. Along with Altavilla, senior guard Madilyn Boyer was named a Preseason Player to Watch. Last season, Behrend finished with a 21-7 overall record and went undefeated in conference play at 16-0, earning the title of the Regular-Season Champions.
