Late First-Half Goals Lift No. 14 Ohio Northern Past Women's Soccer
The No. 14 Ohio Northern women’s soccer team netted two goals in under three minutes to defeat Penn State Behrend 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III women’s soccer tournament on Saturday.

ADA, Ohio – The No. 14 Ohio Northern women's soccer team netted two goals in under three minutes to defeat Penn State Behrend 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament on Saturday.
Jenna Fuller and Siena Ward each tallied a goal late in the first half to lift the Polar Bears in to the next round. For the Lions (15-5-1), Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) made seven saves while Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) led with nine shots.
Fuller scored her 11th goal of the season at the 42:06 mark for a 1-0 lead. Fuller finished a pass just eight yards out from the left wing by Hannah Martin. Fuller then assisted Siena Ward 2:24 later for a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Fuller found Ward in the box for a one-touch shot past Gorski for the two-goal advantage with 45 minutes left to play.
Behrend outshot Ohio Northern 8-3 in the second half. Oberlander added six shots for the game.
The Lions finished with a 15-5-1 overall record.
