The Lions (15-3-2) are making their 14th appearance in the tournament, earning the automatic bid and winning their 18th Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) after defeating Pitt-Greensburg 7-0 on Saturday.
Calvin won its fourth straight MIAA Tournament this past weekend, defeating Hope 2-1 on Saturday. The win marked head coach Emily Ottenhoff's 100th career win with the Knights.
Illinois Tech (19-1-1) will face Grove City (13-4-2) in the other first-round game with the winners of each match facing off on Saturday.
Behrend and Calvin are squaring off for the first time in the NCAA First Round.
