Trio of Freshmen Nab AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Three first-year Behrend athletes earned AMCC Weekly honors.

To kick off the swimming and diving season, Lauren Stephens (Fairview, PA/Fairview) women's diver grabbed Diver of the Week honors, tallying a second place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 195.17. Stephens would then go on to notch a 153.83 score in the three-meter dive for third place.

Women's soccer forward was named Offensive Player of the Week Rachel Sickeri (DuBois, PA/DuBois), scoring three goals and handing out two assists for eight points in a 2-0 week for the Lions. She tallied one goal and one assist vs. Alfred State and then scored twice with one assist vs. Altoona. For the season, she has seven goals and five assists, which have all been posted in conference play.

Men's cross country runner Lucas Boyd (North East, PA/North East) secured Runner of the Week honors, leading the way for the Lions at the Mike Woods Invitational with a time of 25:58.4 for a 129th place finish out of 371 runners. This is the first time in Boyd's collegiate career that he has run a sub 26 in an 8K race, while also running the fastest 8k time in the AMCC this season.
