Women's Track and Field Runs at Dragon Invite
The Penn State Behrend women’s track and field team competed at the Dragon Invite hosted by Tiffin University Saturday and put up some great times.
TIFFIN, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the Dragon Invite hosted by Tiffin University Saturday and put up some great times.
Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) and Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) placed in the three events, while Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knock) and Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) took places in two events.
Individually, Allen placed fifth in the 60m with a season-best 7.90 and second in the 200m in 26.00. She also took second along with Carlsson, Sargent and Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) in the 4x400. They ran a time of 4:08.92.
Carlsson, Sargent, Ramsey and Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) won the DMR by more than a minute over the other team running. They posted a time of 13:12.95.
Ramsey took fifth in the 3000m with a time of 11:18.81, Sargent took ninth in the 800m with a time of 2:28.58 and Pell placed 11th in the 400m in 1:05.35.
In the pole vault, Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) placed seventh with a height of 2.98m (9' 4.5") and Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) took 11th at 2.71m (8' 10.75").
Behrend goes to Brockport Saturday for a 10 a.m. start.
