Three Lions Set Personal Bests At Slippery Rock
Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan), Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), and Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry) all earned personal bests for the Penn State Behrend women's track & field team at the John Papa Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock on Thursday.
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan), Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), and Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry) all earned personal bests for the Penn State Behrend women's track & field team at the John Papa Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock on Thursday.
Key Moments:
* Kappeler tied for first in the pole vault with a personal best 11-9 3/4. This height moves her into second in the Behrend record books, behind Haley Yenchik's 12-2 ¾ set during the 2018 season
* Hartle notched a 5000m personal record time of 19:21.60 for third place
* On her sixth throw of the afternoon, Julia Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) registered a score of 124-5 in the javelin
* In the 400m dash, Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) placed ninth with a time of 1:01.11
* Felton set a new personal record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.99 for seventh place
* Bridget McMaster (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo Central) crossed the finish line in ninth place with a time of 1:12.23 in the 400m hurdles
* Freshman Rylee Long (Slippery Rock, PA/Moniteau) tallied 33-7 1/2 in the triple jump for 10th place
