Lions Take Part In Ashland Alumni Open
The Penn State Behrend women’s track & field team competed in its final meet prior to conference championships on Saturday at the Ashland Alumni Open.
ASHLAND, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field team competed in its final meet prior to conference championships on Saturday at the Ashland Alumni Open.
Key Moments:
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Baylee Dernar (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) each recorded 10th place finishes in their respective events
* Laffan ran a time of 1:13.08 in the 400m hurdles, while Dernar crossed the finish line in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 13:39.99
* In the 1500m, Alivia Hetrick (Waterford, PA/Waterford) (5:10.26-PR) and Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) (5:11.71) placed 18th and 20th
* Braylee Lukehart (Reynoldsville, PA/DuBois Area) (Javelin/104-10 (PR)) and Grace Jones (Union City, PA/Union City) (Triple Jump/30-2 ¼) tallied eighth and 11th in their respective field events
* The 4x1 relay team of Laffan, Jaade Duncan (Turner Falls, MA/Turner Falls), Ella McGowan (Erie, PA/Waterford), and Chloe Yazembiak (West Springfield, PA/Northwestern) finished seventh with a season best time of 51.47
