Park Sets Hammer Throw Record at Slippery Rock
Senior Jessica Park broke the school record in the hammer throw for a third time this season to lead the Penn State Behrend women’s outdoor track & field team at the John Papa Invitational at the William Lennox Track at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium hosted by Slippery Rock.
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Senior Jessica Park broke the school record in the hammer throw for a third time this season to lead the Penn State Behrend women's outdoor track & field team at the John Papa Invitational at the William Lennox Track at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium hosted by Slippery Rock.
Key Moments:
* Park tossed the hammer throw 142-3 to finish 14th overall
* Kelsey Hanna paced Behrend in the 5000m event, taking second in 18:38.04
* The 4x100 relay consisting of Chloe Yazembiak, Abigail Falk, Caroline McDevitt and Anna Buck registered a time of 49.64 for second place
* Falk led the Lions in the 100m dash, taking eighth overall with a time of 12.52
* In the javelin, Emma Lang took ninth overall with a throw of 105-9 (32.2m)
* McDevitt and Yazembiak competed in the 200m dash, placing 13th and 15th, respectively
* McDevitt ran 27.31 for 13th and Yazembiak clocked in at 27.39
