Women's Track & Field Places Sixth at SUNYAC Outdoor Championships
The Penn State Behrend women’s track & field team placed sixth out of 12 teams with a score of 42 at State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Cortland.
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field team placed sixth out of 12 teams with a score of 42 at State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Cortland.
Key Moments:
* The 4x100m relay team of Chloe Yazembiak, Abigail Falk, Caroline McDevitt and Ruby Lormejuste had the top finish on the day for the Lions, placing fourth with a regional-qualifying time of 49.31
* Norah Keeney led Behrend in the discus with a toss of 36.56 (119-11) coming in sixth and Riley Morningstar had a season-best throw of 33.50 (109-11) for eighth place
* McDevitt also ran in the 400m finals, clocking in at 1:01.18 for sixth place
* In the 5000m, Kelsey Hanna ran a regional-qualifying and season-best 18:28.35 for seventh overall
* Lindsey Hartle was ninth in the 5000m (18:41.82) and Alivia Hetrick was 12th (19:55.05)
* Yazembiak, Lynzey Reinsel, Bridget McMaster and Falk were the foursome that ran to a seventh place finish in the 4x400m relay with a season-best time of 4:24.65
* Before the relay, Falk led the Lions in the 200m with a time of 26.93 for eighth place
* Bethany Litwiler ran 12:41.93 for 10th place in the 3000m steeplechase and Sam Abate came in 13th (13:37.95)
* In the high jump, Ana Buck hit a height of 1.37m (4-6) for 11th place
* Braylee Lukehart and Morningstar competed in the shot put
* Lukehart finished 13th overall with a throw of 9.67m (31-8 ¾) and Morningstar was 14th (9.42m, 30-11)
* Cortland garnered 250 points to claim the SUNYAC Outdoor Championship
* The top-3 finishers in each event earn a spot on the SUNYAC All-Conference Team
