Behrend Women's Volleyball Split on Day Two of PSB Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – The Behrend women's volleyball team split on day two of the PSB Invitational, defeating Fredonia 3-0 and falling to Thiel, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in the Junker Center.

Match One:
Final Score: Behrend 3, Fredonia 0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-19)
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-0), Fredonia (1-2)

Key Moments:

* Cadence Jones hit .400 with 18 kills on 40 attempts to help the Lions sweep the Blue Devils
* Brynne Smith managed 15 assists, while Sailor Ladd tallied 14 assists and six digs
* Sara Nobach recorded 20 digs and Alani Salas-Garcia posted 12
* Jones counted for half of the kills in the first set, knocking down six
* The Lions tallied four team blocks and 13 kills in the second set for a 2-0 lead in the match
* Behrend jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third set and used a 5-0 run to pull away from Fredonia to register its seventh win of the season

Final Score: Thiel 3, Behrend 0  (25-19, 25-23, 25-19)
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-1), Thiel (4-2)

Key Moments:

* Thiel handed the Lions their first loss of the season in three sets
* The Tomcats held a slight 35-29 advantage in kills and 47-37 edge in digs
* Jones registered eight kills and Addica Sperry posted seven
* Sperry and Nobach each recorded seven digs
* Behrend rallied back in the third set and darted out to a 6-2 lead
* Thiel went on a 14-5 run to stay ahead for good and collect its fourth win of the season
