Women's Volleyball Splits on Day Two of Allegheny Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Behrend women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory over Waynesburg and fell 3-1 to host Allegheny at the Gator Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Match One:
Final Score: Allegheny 3, Penn State Behrend 1 (13-25, 16-25, 25-21, 13-25)
Records: Penn State Behrend (9-3), Allegheny (6-5)

Key Moments:

* The Gators jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match, before the Lions rallied to win the third
* In the third set, Behrend tallied 14 kills with only five errors to make it 2-1
* Allegheny got its sixth win of the season with a 25-13 fourth-set victory
* Cadence Jones earned another double-double with a team-best 16 kills and 11 digs
* Brynne Smith also had a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs to go with three service aces
* Sara Nobach led with 20 digs and Addica Sperry was the fourth player with double-digit digs at 11
* Olivia Swinarski contributed seven kills

Final Score: Penn State Behrend 3, Waynesburg 0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-13)
Records: Penn State Behrend (10-3), Waynesburg (1-8)

Key Moments:

* Hannah Smith had a career-high .722 attack percentage with a team-best 14 kills on 18 attempts with one error to get the Lions their 10^th win
* Alani Salas-Garcia registered 15 digs, while Nobach added 12
* Smith got her second double-double of the day with 10 assists and 12 digs
* In the first set, Behrend used a 10-4 run to pull away from the Yellow Jackets 23-11 and finished with a 25-17 decision
* Waynesburg had 14 kills in the second set and tied the Lions down the stretch at 22-all
* Jones and Anna Fetzner each posted a kill to make it 25-23 for a 2-0 lead
* The Lions only allowed 13 points in the third set to finish the tournament 3-1
