ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team split a pair of matches on day one of the Curtis Robinette Memorial Invite hosted by Mercyhurst at the Hagerty Events Center on Saturday.
Match One
Score: Washington & Jefferson 20, Penn State Behrend 12
Records: Washington & Jefferson (3-0), Penn State Behrend (1-2)
Key Moments:
* W&J held a small 5-4 lead after the first period
* The Presidents grabbed a 4-1 lead but the Lions got a pair of goals by Darragh Martin
* Hope Edwards and Kaitlyn True also added first-quarter goals
* W&J made it 12-7 by halftime and stayed out front
* Edwards tallied three goals in the third quarter to help the Lions edge the Presidents 4-3 but W&J used a 5-1 fourth quarter for the win
* The win is the second for the Presidents this season over the Lions

Key Moments:
* Dylan Scherping paced the Lions with five goals, while Mackenzie Rickerd scored four
* Scherping tallied a pair of goals in the first and third period
* Rickerd posted her goals in the first and fourth quarters
* Behrend built an 11-3 lead by halftime and added 10 more goals in the second half
* Martin finished with three goals, for seven total on the weekend
