Track & Field Ready for SUNYAC Outdoor Championships
The Penn State Behrend men’s and women’s track & field teams will head to Cortland for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 1-2. The two-day championships will take place at Cortland’s Stadium Complex, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Men
* Carter Tobin earned top seed in the 100m and 200m. He is currently ranked 19th in Division III in the 100m and is 27th in the 200m
* Tobin is joined by Logan Brewer in the 100m and Brendan Luce in the 200m
* Tobin will link with by Dominic Marino, Jake Egizio and Brandon Konieczki in the 4x100m relay as the second seed
* Nicolin Pierce, Peyton Brewer, Lee Qualk and Charlie Motter are the other No. 1 seeds for the Lions in addition to Tobin
* Pierce has the top time in the 1500m run, Brewer is first in the 3000m steeplechase, Qualk has the best distance in the SUNYAC in the long jump and Motter leads a trio in the javelin
* Joining Motter, who is ranked 41st in NCAA DIII, is Braden Balaski as the second seed and Will Vanderweele in fourth, while Cole Cunningham will follow Qualk in the long jump
* Behrend has a trio of throwers all doubling their events
* Alex Cotton, who is ranked 22nd in DIII in the shot put, is the second seed in the shot put and discus, while Antonio Faraone is seventh in both events and Ryan Visosky is 10th and 12th, respectively
* Egizio is also the second seed in the 400m and is joined by Jake Walden and Davy Friedrich
* Derek Hillhouse is the Behrend top seed in the high jump in the third spot followed by Boden Gushie
* Alex Haskins is seeded fourth in the 5000m event and Aiden Reinsel is 13th
* Haskins will also pace the Lions in the 10,000m run along with Michael Werner
* In addition to the 4x100m relay, Marino is seeded fifth in the 110m hurdles
* The foursome of Luce, Walden, Friedrich and Ethan Hunt make up the fourth-seed 4x400m relay
* Jack Betler and Aiden Seeman will lead the Lions in the 800m, while Shlok Chavda is the ninth seed in the 400m hurdles
* In the hammer throw, Nathan DiGilio will be the lone competitor for Behrend
* The top three finishers in each will named to the All-Conference Team
Women
* Julia Balaski has earned the lone top seed for the Lions, competing in the javelin along with Caroline Lewis (3rd), Emma Lang (4th) and Braylee Lukehart (5th)
* Balaski is currently ranked 38th in NCAA Division III in the javelin
* Lukehart will also throw the shot put along with Riley Morningstar
* Caroline McDevitt has the third seed in the 400m and is joined by Lynzey Reinsel in the 15th spot
* Behrend will have six runners in the 5000m race
* Lindsey Hartle and Kelsey Hanna are seeded in scoring positions at sixth and seventh, respectively
* Bethany Litwiler, Alivia Hetrick, Fiona Bunnell and Baylee Dernar will also compete in the 5000m
* Dernar will lead the Lions in the 10,000m, starting in the sixth spot, and Litwiler will represent Behrend in the 3000m steeplechase
* In the 100m, Abigial Falk will lead the pack as the seventh seed followed by Ruby Lormejuste tied for ninth, Chloe Yazembiak in 11th and Ana Buck in 13th
* Falk is also the 10th seed in the 200m and Yazembiak is 12th, while Buck is the lone competitor and 11th seed in the high jump
* In the pole vault, Becca O'Neil and Morgan Martin are fifth and seventh, respectively
* Jessica Park and Norah Keeney will represent Behrend in the hammer throw as the seventh and 10th seed
* Keeney and Morningstar are also competing in the discus
* Bridget McMaster will be the lone Lion in the 800m as the 18th seed
* In the 4x100m relay, the team of Yazembiak, Falk, McDevitt and Buck are poised in the third seed
* Falk, competing in her fourth event, will be the lead in the 4x400m relay along with McMaster, Reinsel and Lormejuste in the sixth spot
* The top-18 times/marks in the SUNYAC have qualified for conference championships with two wildcard spots available for each school
