Men's Track & Field in Second Place at SUNYAC Championships; Haskins, Motter Earn Silver

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field team had five athletes punch their ticket to finals in their respective events on the first day of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday, hosted by Cortland.
Key Moments:
* Carter Tobin qualified for finals in the 100m with a time of 10.75 for first place in the prelims
* Tobin also ran to a first-place finish in the 200m with a leading time of 21.46 to advance to tomorrow's finals
* In the 400m prelims, Jake Egizio to tomorrow's finals with a time of 49.47 for fourth place
* Alex Haskins ran a person-best time of 32:16.61 to take home the silver medal in the 10,000m
* Top-seed in the long jump, Lee Qualk, had a distance of 6.69m for sixth place followed by Cole Cunningham in 6.66 for eighth place
* Behrend had athletes advance to the finals in both hurdles events
* In the 400m hurdles, Shlok Chavda had a personal-best time of 57.78 for eight place in the prelims
* Dominic Marino had a regional-qualifying time of 15.41 in the 110m hurdles
* The Lions had three athletes in the Top-10 in the javelin
* Charlie Motter led the trio with a throw of 50.24m (164-10) for second overall, while Braden Balaski was third with a toss of 46.48 (152-6) on his sixth attempt
* Will Vanderweele took sixth in the javelin with a distance of 42.76m (140-3)
* As a team, the Lions stand in second out of 12 teams with a score of 29
* The top-3 finishers in each event earn a spot on the SUNYAC All-Conference Team
