Women's Basketball Named AMCC Regular-Season Champions; Lions Defeat Mt. Aloysius
The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Regular-Season Championship by defeating Mt. Aloysius 83-71 Saturday afternoon. The Lions will enter the conference playoffs on a 12-game winning streak.

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Regular-Season Championship by defeating Mt. Aloysius 83-71 Saturday afternoon. The Lions will enter the conference playoffs on a 12-game winning streak.

* The Mounties jumped out to a 19-16 lead after a quarter, shooting 70 percent from the field in the process
* The Lions started the second quarter on a 13-2 run in the first four minutes, taking a 29-21 lead before settling for a three-point lead at intermission (40-37)
* Behrend forced eight Mt. Aloysius turnovers in the frame and 15 in the half
* Six players scored for the Lions in the first twenty minutes, led by Emma Marsteller with 11 who finished the game with 13
* After a slow start in the third, the Lions exploded to take a 13-point lead, 69-56, entering the fourth
* The Lions shot 61.5 percent (8 of 13, including four triples) and closed the quarter on a 22-6 run
* The Mounties won the fourth quarter, 15-14
* Morgan Altavilla led five Lions in double figures with 18 points
* Lilly Palladino, Julia Balaski and Madilyn Boyer followed with 15 apiece
* Molly Kosmack led the Mounties with 19
* Behrend and Mt. Aloysius split 16 three-pointers evenly but the Lions forced 28 turnovers and converted them into 32 points
* The Lions swept the regular season against the Mounties, having prevailed 76-59 January 10 at the Junker Center
* This marks the second consecutive season Behrend has amassed at least 20 wins
