Kachurick Ready To Compete At NCAA DIII Championships
Penn State Behrend freshman diver Lucas Kachurick will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships beginning Wednesday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend freshman diver Lucas Kachurick will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships beginning Wednesday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN.
Kachurick will compete in 1m diving on Thursday and the 3m diving on Saturday. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. each day with the top eight divers advancing to the finals, beginning at 6 p.m. each day. A top-eight finish earns a diver All-America honors in the event. A finish of ninth through 16th earns a diver All-America honorable mention.
Kachurick is the program's first male diver to qualify for the DIII Championships. He was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Diver of the Year after winning both the 1m and 3m diving competitions at the AMCC Championships. He set all four school records for six and 11 dives in both events and was named Grove City Invitational Diver of the Meet.
